Residents love the pool and tennis, tot lots, the wooded location, and mid-century modern architecture. Parking is easy with lots of surface lots. The community is not pet friendly.
The Promenade Co-op is a large building with two towers at the edge of Bethesda with so many amenities that you will think you are living in a fine hotel. The front desk, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools, exercise rooms, pickle ball courts, party rooms, library, restaurant, hair salon, travel agent and on site contractor are just a few of the features that make the Promenade so special.
Kenwood Forest 2 with its sister community, Kenwood Forest 1, combine to make one of the most appealing communities in Montgomery County. Kenwood Forest 2 is made up of traditional brick townhomes arranged around green courtyards with mature cherry trees and colorful azaleas. People who live in Kenwood Forest love walking into Bethesda for dinner or running on the Capital Crescent Trail with their dogs. Condo fees are low and the community is pet friendly.
Kenwood Forest I is a community of townhomes converted from apartments in the late 1970s to early 1980s. It is at the intersection of Bradley Blvd and Fairfax Road. The townhomes are set in courtyards and surrounded by mature trees. The community is very pet friendly and people enjoy walking their dogs on the Capital Crescent Trail or into downtown Bethesda.
Chevy Chase Park Condos are a small community of condos backing to Norwood Park at the edge of downtown Bethesda. The garden style apartments, located on a quiet street, offer an alternative to the high rise buildings in Bethesda which have become so prevalent. This pet friendly community has off street parking, extra storage and low condo fees. Built in 1947, it is similar to its neighbor, Kenwood Forest, in construction materials and style.
Hamlet House Condos at 3535 Chevy Chase Lake Drive, Chevy Chase MD 20815 offers buyers an opportunity for a moderately priced, mid century modern condo in a garden style setting. Built in 1960, the building is small, with only 31 units. Located off Connecticut Avenue, Hamlet House in Chevy Chase is close to the beltway, the new Purple Line, and downtown Bethesda. The new Chevy Chase Lake community, once it is completed, will offer much needed shopping and restaurants within a short walk.
3020 Porter Street NW Unit 102 in Cleveland Park DC is a perfect starter home and it’s also a great option if you want to downsize. This is a 650 square foot updated co-op with a stainless and granite kitchen, updated bath, hardwood floors, the possibility of garage parking, a common patio for the residents and extra storage. This co-op has no underlying mortgage and low co-ops fees which include property taxes, insurance and water and sewer. The co-op is cat friendly.
The Wellington on Strathmore in downtown Bethesda offers a great opportunity for a first time buyer or someone who wants an affordable walkable condo close to the metro and all the shops and restaurants of Bethesda. The condo community is 22 condos located in two buildings – 7034 and 7036 Strathmore, with tandem parking. The building is pet friendly with some breed restrictions and has a common laundry facility but also has some condos with in unit laundry facilities.
4720 Chevy Chase Drive is a small building of 34 mid century modern units built in 1962 at about the same time as the Bradley House Condos. The building backs to Norwood Park and the units have lovely views from their balconies. You have your choice of 3 bedrooms with 1332 to 1571 square feet to one bedroom 832 square foot units. The building is pet friendly with size restriction and shared laundry facilities.
